So incase I haven't filled all of you in, I discovered a mass in my left breast in mid March. Since then it has only increased in size dramatically. At my first ultrasound with my doctor, he took a look at it and decided that I should have an ultrasound done on my breast. The results were sent to a general surgeon who I met with today. It was kind of scary. I am scheduled to go under the knife next Friday. The surgeon said we could do a biopsy with a needle but the mass is very hard and it might be difficult, which I thought sounded painful. He suggested just removing it. He said I w0uld probably have to have it removed some time or another and I figured at the rate its growing, the longer we wait the bigger the scar. The doctor then said that he has seen females at my age with breast cancer and he has seen women with breast cancer pregnant. Thanks doc. I'm not really worried about the whole cancer part, but I can tell you I'm kind of freaked out about the surgery. And of course they don't want me to be put asleep so I have to go through all of this awake! Scary!! The doctor also said he will test the mass after it's removed for cancer but I'm not going to worry until I have to. As for the small tumor on my bladder, my doctor for that wants to wait until after the baby to do any further testing. Geez can I develop lumps anywhere else in my body!!! I guess I'm just a lumpy kind of gal.
I have an updated pic of me for you guys in my first maternity shirt!!! Cool huh.
